剧团聚焦在感知、游戏性、和惊奇。《Thauma》是剧团双联创作的上半部，也是一次对“惊奇”的追问。古希腊人说，惊奇是知识的源头。这部戏不讲故事，不说话，只让物件与置景在光影中醒来，仿佛拥有自己的意志和生命。它用诗意的视觉语言，把观众轻轻推入一个由意外、好奇与想象共同构成的世界。

剧团的下半部作品《Manual for living beings》，延续了这个表达形式，但把视线从物体移向语言本身——把词语当作材料、影像，甚至活物来触碰与拆解。

La Mula已斩获多个重要奖项，包括MAX大奖、巴塞罗那评论家奖、莱里达偶戏节三项金奖。他们的作品巡演欧洲，正通过艺术节与跨国合作，持续拓宽剧场的边界。

La Mula is a Barcelona-based theatre company founded by Magda Puig Torres and Andreu Martínez Costa. Their work combines visual theatre, object theatre, puppetry, movement and scenography to create non-verbal performances where meaning emerges through images rather than narrative.

The company is interested in perception, play and wonder. Understanding theatre as a space for visual thinking, La Mula develops handcrafted stage languages that invite audiences to rediscover ordinary objects and everyday reality through a renewed gaze. Their creations explore how light, space, movement and objects can transform the way we perceive the world.

Thauma is the first part of a diptych exploring the concept of wonder. Inspired by the ancient Greek idea that wonder is the origin of knowledge, the performance creates a sequence of visual landscapes where objects seem to acquire a life of their own. Without dialogue or linear storytelling, the piece invites spectators to experience surprise, curiosity and imagination through a poetic visual language.

The company's second production, Manual for Living Beings, continues this research by shifting its focus from objects to language itself, exploring words as material, image and living matter.

La Mula's work has been recognised with several major performing arts awards, including a MAX Award, Critics' Awards of Barcelona, and three Drac d'Or Awards at the Lleida Puppet Theatre Fair. Their productions have toured extensively across Europe and continue to build an international presence through festivals and collaborations.
