剧场创作者陈然从社交平台收集了一千多个可爱动物影像并自然形成了一个数字档案，通过持续的研究，试图探寻“可爱”的情感和文化维度。熊猫，一个被广泛传播的动物形象，随着时间推移，逐渐成为创作中的核心图像——它因可爱而被喜爱、被传播，也在不同时期承载了人对图像的复杂情感投射。

在《毛绒小可爱》中，陈然追溯了熊猫在图像史中的演变旅程——从早期影像、文化传播，到今日的互联网宠儿。在这个过程中，她开始意识到自己的情感经验也在观看、复制、分享这些图像的过程中被不断重塑。

In this ongoing artistic research, Chen Ran has collected a digital archive of over 1,000 cute animal clips from social media platforms, exploring the emotional and cultural dimensions of cuteness. What began as a daily ritual of liking, saving, and searching for meaning gradually developed into a deeper investigation into how animal images shape emotional bonds, expressions of care, and modes of memory.

At the center of this archive is the panda—a widely circulated animal image that is both gentle and endearing, yet charged with layers of association. Over time, it became a central figure in her research: not just adored and shared for its cuteness, but also carrying complex emotional projections between human and image.

In Tiny, Fluffy, Sweet, Chen traces the visual evolution of the panda—from early photographs and cultural dissemination to its current status as an internet icon. Along the way, she realizes how her own emotional experiences have been continually reshaped through watching and sharing these images. Through this project, she seeks to understand: Why are we so drawn to certain animals? And what emotional needs and desires are being expressed through these seemingly light and cute contents?
