ACT Shanghai Contemporary Theatre festival

大到世界，小到个体的生活，当下都似乎在朝着愈加碎片化的方向滑落。创作者也好，剧场和机构也好，大多也都不得不变得更加谨小慎微，以免于陷入困境，创作也成为愈发孤独的一件事。如果艺术仍是我们人类对更高层次精神生活的一种坚持，今天，在各自的生存都面临挑战的时刻，它要如何应对？面对当下令人不安的世界，剧场又能表达些什么？今年的ACT上海当代戏剧节以“聚合”为主题，邀请了一系列以合作碰撞而产生的剧场作品。它们背后的合作跨越了语言、文化、国界、代际，跨越了不同组织结构和地理距离，正如剧场是一个让大家从四面八方聚到一起的所在。

ACT在2025年也特别与亚欧基金会携手合作，为亚欧大陆上已持续了千万年的流动和交往以及今天在剧场中的聚会共同举杯。

From everyday life of individual to wars and geopolitics, our world seems to be on a worrying trajectory now, polarised, fragmented. Artists, producers, and institutions all have to navigate their ways in this increasingly precarious landscape, to continue, to survive, to make meaning, to feel less lonely. If art still means something higher than our own existence, something about our spirits and dreams as human beings, how would it face this challenging moment? What can it say to this unsettling reality? Under the theme of ‘Synergy’, ACT2025 invites works created and realised through various forms of working together. These results of collaboration across languages, cultural backgrounds, national borders, geographical distance, generations, and platforms remind us of theatre as a place for us to encounter and to be together.

Last but not least, ACT2025 joins Asia-Europe Foundation this year to celebrate the long-lasting mobility between these two continents and our gathering in theatre today.
